Perhaps I wasn't clear about "installed location". The test does not fail if you run it directly from the build directory like with "make test". It fails when you do a "make install" and then run the test using the newly installed Python. Tests need to work both ways.

Yes, this is with current top of trunk of both branches.  Perhaps I wasn't clear about "installed location".
