Please refer to the workflow docs about backporting the changes : https://devguide.python.org/committing/#backporting-changes-to-an-older-version . The PR title needs to be modified accordingly to prefix the branch number in this case [3.7] along with using the original PRs title followed by the PR number. I think the PR description also has to be changed. Some relevant discussion on this in a backport PR : #9755 . This also applies to the other backport PR to 3.6. Thanks |
